குருத்வம் விஸ்தாரம் க்ஷிதிதர பதி: பார்வதி நிஜாத்
நிதம்பாத் ஆச்சித்ய த்வயி ஹரண ரூபேண நிததே
அதஸ்தே விஸ்தீர்ணோ குருரயமசேஷாம் வஸுமதீம்
நிதம்ப ப்ராக்பார: ஸ்தகயதி லகுத்வம் நயதி ச


Oh daughter of the mountain!

Himavaan the king of the mountains perhaps readily gave as dowry to You the density and breadth from his bottom, so that Your behinds are broad and dense and those two can therefore hide all of the world and can make the world light.

மலைகளின் புத்திரியே!

பர்வத ராஜனான ஹிமவான் உனது சீதனமாக தனது விஸ்தாரமான அடிப் பகுதிகளை விரும்பிக் கொடுத்தானோ? அதனால் தான் உனது இரு ப்ருஷ்டங்களும் படர்ந்தும் விரிந்தும் இருந்து எல்லா உலகையும் தன்னுள் மறைத்து இவ்வுலகை எடை குறைவானதாக ஆக்கியதோ?
