ஸ்திரோ கங்காவர்த: ஸ்தந முகுல ரோமா வலிலதா
கலாவாலம் குண்டம் குஸும சர தேஜோ ஹூத புஜ:
ரதேர் லீலாகாரம் கிமபி தவ நாபிர் கிரி ஸுதே
பில த்வாரம் சித்தே: கிரிச நயநாநாம் விஜயதே

Oh daughter of the mountain!
I am not able to make up my mind if Your navel is:
a whirlpool in river Ganga which appears to be stable,
or the root of the climber which is Your hair line stream having two breasts of Yours as the buds,
or the Homa fire where the fire is the light from cupid,
or the playhouse of Rathi, God of Love - Manmadha's wife,
or the opening to the cave in which Shiva's tapas gets fulfilled.

மலைகளின் பெண்ணே!
உனது நாபியானது :
அமைதியாகத் தோன்றும் கங்கை நதியின் சுழலோ,
இரு மார்புகளையும் மொட்டாகக் கொண்ட, நாபியில் இருந்து எழும் ரோம ரேகை என்னும் கொடியின் வேரோ,
மன்மத பாணத்தால் ஏற்றப்பட்ட நெருப்பைக் கொண்ட ஹோம அக்னியோ,
காதல் கடவுள் மன்மதனின் மனைவியாகிய ரதி விளையாடும் இடமோ
எது என நான் அறியேன்.
